I had my tuxedo all ready for last week’s National Academy of Human Resources induction dinner, but Hurricane Sandy’s destructive winds and rain forced the group to postpone the event until next November. The event welcoming the NAHR’s Class of 2012 was slated to be held at the Yale Club in New York last Thursday.
As always, I was looking forward to the annual gathering and being able to congratulate the new Fellows in person. But with New York in the very early stages of recovering from the destruction Sandy left in her path, that obviously wasn’t going to happen.
So instead, let me at least congratulate each of the winners here:
- Michael L. Davis, senior vice president of global human resources, General Mills Inc.
- Daniel Marsili, senior vice president of global human resources, Colgate-Palmolive Co.
- Larry E. Steward, vice president of human resources, DTE Energy Co.
- Mara E. Swan, executive vice president of global strategy and talent, ManpowerGroup
No doubt some of you may recall that Swan was named HRE‘s 2012 HR Executive of Year and was featured on our Oct. 2 cover. So it’s obviously been a rewarding few weeks for ManpowerGroup’s HR leader.
Kudos to all on their extraordinary achievement!
