Googlers Get Servants

As if it wasn’t awesome enough to work for Google (free laptop, plenty of free restaurants, child care, free time to work on special projects), the company is now offering its employees “runners” who can take out the garbage, cook dinner for two and even put together furniture from Ikea, according to Gawker.com.

The new service is offered through TaskRabbit, an online service offering to do odd jobs for people. Googlers get credits for TaskRabbit, which could help the company attract and retain the brightest engineers, but shouldn’t do much to shed the company’s culture of entitlement, something the company vowed to do in 2009.
